VISION STATEMENT

The vision statement for Alberni Valley Christian Reformed Church states that our ministry exists to reach people, bringing them to a loving relationship with Jesus and membership in the community, helping them to grow in their faith, guiding them to serve in their gifted ministry and honouring God with their lives. 
At first glance it appears as though we’ve burdened ourselves with an immense challenge. But the statement is made in the strength of God’s grace which we have received. In John 15, Jesus tells us that He is the vine and we are the branches.  The implications of Jesus' words suggest that any ministry we do is done in the life-giving strength of the vine we belong to. The people on the pages of this Web site represent branches on God’s vine.  When we look at the many faces on the Site and recognize them as fellow members of God’s vine, we are in awe of the way God tills His garden.  By God’s grace we live out the vision He has given us, growing together in the strength of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit.
